Check-In Time?

The following are the respective times in which boarders must check into their dormitories.
  • Preps (Freshmen), Lowers (Sophomores): Sunday thru Friday - 8PM.
  • Uppers (Juniors): Sunday thru Friday - 9 PM.
  • Seniors: Sunday thru Friday - 10 PM.
  • For all students, Saturday check-in is at 11PM.
  • On Fridays with no Saturday classes the following day, check-in is at 10PM.
At those times, Day students must also check into the Academy Center (a building where the Day Student 'common room' resides).

What is your opinion on this schedule? If you are opposed to it, how would you change it?

Wage Freeze?

Tyler Tingley, Principal of the Academy, recently reported that the school's $1 billion plus endowment dropped by 21.8%. Albeit the figure is less than Standard and Poor's 37% drop, Tingley urged that the school cut next year's spending by $6 million; that would require a wage freeze for both new and veteran faculty. An anonymous source stated that this would also certainly call for job slashing, starting from part-time behind-the-scene workers who are most likely to be left standing in the unemployment line within a few months. The Exonian also reported that entire classes such as Russian and Archaeology are prone to slashage.

The controversy here is that the school still holds over $800 million, which is more or less an endowment of $800,000 per student. To what degree are the necessary steps actually necessary?

Dining Hall food?

Many students abhor dining hall food and often refer to it as and "hard to look at, because meat and fruit don't go together." But compared to public schools nationwide, others argue that the dining hall crew works relentlessly to provide us with top-quality food. Which side are you on?
