Given a second chance, what would you do differently throughout your career, or would you attend at all?

  4. If I did not attend I would have more free time to explore interests outside of school and experience life in general, but I would have sacrificed an education.

40,000 is a lot of money to listen to other students preach about their superior beliefs, but sometimes classes are actually really eye-opening and fun to be in.

I would attend again, but if you're coming here, taking a good long look about what you value in life and why. Don't come here for college. It's easier to get into college from public school than PEA. Do it for the education.

  5. I disagree. It is much harder to get into college from public school. I have many friends back from the public school I used to go to who were smarter and more outgoing than me. I still keep in touch with them and their GPA are over fours (A+ is considered 4.33), but Ivy League schools are just part of a dream for them. The doors that Exeter opens for you are phenomenal. Yes, the education is incredible but you also learn so many new valuable life skills such as time management and the importance of community service.

Elite colleges most definitely distinguish Exonians from others.

  7. If I could, I would do it all over again. It's a ton of work, yes, but the experience is worth it. There are so many opportunities you can't help but fill up your schedule, but in the end I think it's all worth it.

  9. i don't think this blog is helpful at all.
the only reason people make blogs is to DRAW ATTENTION TO THEMSELVES, or have an OUTLET. this is both. it was already written up in the exonian, and everyone said it was neither good nor bad, just because they didn;t want challenge ppl who were sp[eaking the truth, even though THIS IS MOSTLY LIES.

personally, i think PHILLIPS EXETER ACADEMY IS AWESOME
    and
    THIS BLOG TOTALLY SUCKS!!!
    from,
the rational person with a brain enough to see when a great school's rep is getting trashed because a kid was bored one saturday night so he created a blog

  10. I think this 'rational person with a brain enough' is himself being irrational and pea-brained. How in the world is the administrator supposed to draw attention to hismelf ie he/she is anonymous? How can you show that this school's rep is getting trashed, when the polls clearly say that more people would return to Exeter than don't? And if you sift through the topics, most of the comments are optimistic and helpful rather than purposefully degrating. I think you yourself are the one that's CAUSING this blog to suck and you're the one who's giving the school a bad name because it proves that our school unfortunately houses 'IDOT' students like yourself. I hope you meant to spell it correctly and say 'idiot' rather tha IDOT? sounds like some apple product.

If you love this school so much, go post some reasons that could convince applicants to come here.

-Bigger brain than you because I can actually spell.

p.s. the negative comments about this school are usually true and they're more of what this school needs improvement on rather than this school sucking for it
p.p.s. the poll is would you RETURN to Exeter. A lot of students were encouraged or even forced by their parents to come here, and the poll asks if they would return if they had a choice.
Also, you could enjoy a life-changing experience but not want to go through it again. I'm extremely happy that I came here because I learned so much. But would I do four more years here? I don't think so. I'd definitely want my kids to come here though, but again, it's just for the one-time experience.

  11. I would have done a modern language instead of Latin. I like Latin, but as an elective would have been better.
