Although many comments are potentially helpful, too much chaos has infiltrated this blog. Here are the conclusions.
The purpose of this site is for anonymous students, alumni, and/or faculty of Phillips Exeter Academy to openly and honestly discuss the Pros and Cons of their experience at this elite boarding school (whether it be one of love, hatred, pleasure, disappointment, or a mix of the four) in order to provide future applicants with more first-hand information about this school than what is simply stated on private school review websites. This website is under construction.
RULES
The mission of this blog is to mimic the system of studentsreview.com except at the highschool level, to give aspiring applicants a fuller picture of what they are in for.
1. Any inappropriate comment that does not pertain to the topic will be deleted.
2. There are many comments that are obscene and riddled with profanity. But opinion is opinion. This website is unofficial and informal. As long as the comment pertains to the given topic and is supported by a coherent justification for what causes the writer such pain and angst, I will not censor profanity. If the post contains nothing but profanity and a few random words, it will be deleted. The mission of this website is truth and honesty.
3. Spam will most certainly be deleted.
Although I wish I could, please understand that blogger.com does not endow me with the ability to read comments before they are posted. I could restrict the posting limit to blogger.com users but that would change little in terms of the personality of the posters. I will do my best to regulate posts as often as possible.
Also note that the idea of making commentors sign their posts with their name or school would only lead to more controvery, as people would begin to post as a claimed identity of another.
Please respect this website and don't waste your time here if you disagree with its philosophy.

Cold and icy but sometimes beautiful... makes you study harder i guess

ReplyDeletethe only reason people make blogs is to DRAW ATTENTION TO THEMSELVES, or have an OUTLET. this is both. it was already written up in the exonian, and everyone said it was neither good nor bad, just because they didn;t want challenge ppl who were sp[eaking the truth, even though THIS IS MOSTLY LIES.

I think this 'rational person with a brain enough' is himself being irrational and pea-brained. How in the world is the administrator supposed to draw attention to hismelf ie he/she is anonymous? How can you show that this school's rep is getting trashed, when the polls clearly say that more people would return to Exeter than don't? And if you sift through the topics, most of the comments are optimistic and helpful rather than purposefully degrating. I think you yourself are the one that's CAUSING this blog to suck and you're the one who's giving the school a bad name because it proves that our school unfortunately houses 'IDOT' students like yourself. I hope you meant to spell it correctly and say 'idiot' rather tha IDOT? sounds like some apple product.

p.s. the negative comments about this school are usually true and they're more of what this school needs improvement on rather than this school sucking for it
p.p.s. the poll is would you RETURN to Exeter. A lot of students were encouraged or even forced by their parents to come here, and the poll asks if they would return if they had a choice.
Also, you could enjoy a life-changing experience but not want to go through it again. I'm extremely happy that I came here because I learned so much. But would I do four more years here? I don't think so. I'd definitely want my kids to come here though, but again, it's just for the one-time experience.
